Colerne went into this top of the table clash missing half a dozen key players due to injury, non more so than in the 2nd row where Kev Murphy and John Kosma making his first start for Colerne did a magnificent job.
100% concentration was needed against the impressive Trowbridge side who were not about to give up their unbeaten start to the season end at home.
Unfortunately lack of concentration led to Colerne giving away 12 points in the first 10 minutes and from then on it was a uphill struggle.
After this Colerne started to up their game and their more experienced pack started to dominate, eventually leading to their first score after continued infringements around the ruck area. Ryan Willcox converting the penalty.
Things stayed like this until the half, which came to soon for a Colerne pack who were dominating but failing to capitalise.
The second half started and remained even until halfway through the half when after an intercepted pass Colerne scrum half Ryan Willcox stormed into the Trowbridge half with his opposite number the only player giving chase on his heels, unfortunately Willcox pulled up just outside the home sides 10 metre line with a pulled hamstring and his game was over, as well as the chance of Colerne cutting the deficit in this crucial game.
Having now lost their influential scrum half and leading points scorer this season Colerne looked a beaten side and just o rub salt into the wound Trowbridge hit back with 2 more quick scores putting the game out of reach.
Not to be outdone and with time running out Colerne managed a well deserved score , once again from an intercepted pass and Jamie Duncan racing in from 95 metres to add some pride to the scoreboard, Matty Trueman adding the conversion.
A thoroughly enjoyable and hard fought game played in typical bog like conditions with a very good looking Trowbridge side taking the spoils and proving their worth at being league leaders with their 100% record still in tact.
Colerne taking a lot of positives from an all round good performance standing them in good stead for the rest of the season.

League Game Away vs Chippenham III
Colerne went into the game knowing that they could ill afford to drop any more points this early in the season if their aspirations of a league title were to be kept alive.
In wet and windy conditions this was never going to be a showcase performance by any of the sides and the pre-game talk was all about going back to basics.
Colerne started very much on the front foot and took control, keeping it tight up front against a strong Chippenham side. It was not long before their first score with Ross Willcox crossing the line from close range to calm the visitors nerves.
Halfway through the half Colerne scored their 2nd try of the game, once again coming from tight work in the forwards allowing loose head prop Joe Cattelona to claim his first try for the club capping a man of the match display. Ryan Willcox adding the conversion and this is how it stayed until half time.
With the wind behind them Chippenham started the second half in a positive mood and began to threaten the Colerne line on a number of occasions. This overted by some fantastic defensive work by the hard working Colerne team.
As the minutes wound down Colerne began once again to assert their superiority and scored their 3rd and decisive try through Matty Trueman, who picked up the ball from just insidse the opponents half and ran in a 50 yard try.
At this stage Ryan Willcox having injured himself, the last kick of the game was left to the kicking prowess of Adam ' The Hit Man ' Rolfe who comfortably slotted over the final 2 points
All in all a very good display given the conditions with Colerne winning comfortably, setting up nicely a top of the table clash with Trowbridge next week !
